How to Recover Your HP 727 Printhead for Designjet T920 T1500 T2500 (and family)

HP 727 Printhead Refill Procedure Install auxiliary printhead feeder needle seals as shown. This will help prevent ink seepage during the refill procedure. Keep the copper nozzle face down during this procedure. They will ooze a small amount of ink during the refill procedure, but with the auxiliary seals in place, the seepage will be minimal. Remove 4 Torx T10 screws from the top retaining plate as shown. Lift the plate to remove. Remove the first reservoir, and extract ink from the Grey ink cartridge. A very helpful customer clued us in on getting the PC to talk to the printer:  "Below is the HP Support page showing the driver choices (note that I selected Windows 8.0. If your Designjet printer is showing error 58:10 "Color sensor ESP (spectrophotometer) if the printer is not working well," or a related 58:xx error, the problem may be mechanical. Historically, we've assumed the issue must be with the color sensor itself, or with the carriage PCA, but we've recently discovered a fairly common failure, and believe it or not --it's related to the service station. AFTER REPLACING THE SERVICE STATION, RESET LIFE COUNTERS.   Entering the Service Utilities Menu Once  inside the “Main Menu”, press the Up arrow key and the Cancel key together. You are now in the Service Menu Menu. The purpose of this Service Utility is to reset the internal life counters.
