HP 727 Printhead Refill Procedure
Install auxiliary printhead feeder needle seals as shown. This will help prevent ink seepage during the refill procedure. Keep the copper nozzle face down during this procedure. They will ooze a small amount of ink during the refill procedure, but with the auxiliary seals in place, the seepage will be minimal.
Remove 4 Torx T10 screws from the top retaining plate as shown. Lift the plate to remove.
Remove the first reservoir, and extract ink from the Grey ink cartridge. Refill reservoir with exactly 12ml ink. Do not overfill. Repeat for the other reservoirs.
Note: the syringe needle will seal if inserted perfectly straight. In this case, we want to allow air to escape, so slightly skew the needle to prevent the seal, and allow the air to exit. Do not pressurize the reservoir by pumping air or ink into it with the needle sealed. Keep an eye on the printhead electronic contacts, and ensure ink does not seep onto them.
If the printhead is not accepted immediately after refilling, allow the printhead to sit 2 hours, then try to "reseat" the printhead once again.
