0B0006 Trailing Cable Test Points
Posted by Bob Wert on
Any time the Designjet 1050C trailing cables are disconnected and reconnected because of a carriage replacement, belt replacement, trailing cable replacement or main logic PCB replacement, the resistance check MUST be made or risk blowing F7 or the main logic board itself. AFTER the trailing cables are attached, you need to read at least 100 ohms across the test points (more typically closer to 1000 ohms). The resistance will be moving and that is normal. Zero ohms means a short and the trailing cables will need to be reseated. HP put the ground and +5VDC .030” apart on the connector and...

Print Head Cleaning Made Easy
Posted by Bob Wert on
Print heads are the mechanical parts of printers that spray out ink through miniature drill holes using thermal or piezoelectric printing technology. Although the process sounds quite simple, it involves a great deal of precision to obtain good results. If these print heads are not used for a week or so, the nozzles get clogged with dry ink. This clogging blocks the print head and hinders the proper functioning of the printer. To avoid the problem of clogging, most of the printers like the Designjet 5000 or 1050C are installed with print head cleaning utility. It works by flushing the print...

Inkless Printing, new feat of technology
Posted by Bob Wert on
The world is changing and evolving every day. This evolution makes sure that the processes keep on improving and the world becomes a better place for everyone. Such a thing is happening in the world of printing and taking it to a new and improved state of being. Have you ever imagined printing without using a single droplet of ink? Seems impossible, doesn’t it. Well it is now possible. How? No sorcery is involved so there is no need to run around creating a fuss about it.Printing without using ink is more than revolutionary; it saves time, resources, and makes...

Inkjet printers v/s Laserjet printers
Posted by Bob Wert on
Printers are one of the most revolutionary inventions in the computer world; they give us the power to feel what we see on a screen and make it easier for us to make our work travel those distances which even internet can’t. Over the years printers have evolved from the massive printing press like structures to the present day compact and elegant daily use printers. With the evolution of printers they branched out into various streams of devices, utilizing different technologies to print the given input on the print media in use. Out of all the different types of printers...
