Communications problem with Jetdirect

I have a HP Designjet 5000 and last year I purchased a new carriage belt. I installed it and everything worked great. I did not use the printer for a couple of months and now I can not get it to received a signal through the HP Directjet Card on the back of the printer. I installed an new card but still do not get a light on the back to verify internet connection. Is there something I can do to resolve this problem?
Try to open the web page in the plotter by using Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc. Open a browser and enter the IP address in the web address. If it opens the page, you have communications with the plotter through the JetDirect card. If not, the problem is outside the plotter.
