Designjet 1050C Media won't load

I have a customer with a HP 1055cm Plus when you load paper it beeps and you push the handles down the platen spins & spins and it never grabs the paper if you load the paper manually it still thinks there is no paper loaded any ideas?

The 1050C probably has a problem with the pinch roller assembly.  There is a long cam rod that actuates the pinch assembly and the connection to that rod may be broken.  Another possibility is that the customer is trying to load a heavy media that is near the end of the roll and has too much curl in it for the pinch rollers to grab.
